This comparative analysis synthesises disinformation landscape data from EDMO's national hubs across 20 EU member states — the most geographically comprehensive comparative assessment of European disinformation environments produced by civil society. The synthesis identifies patterns common across the EU alongside the divergent national vulnerabilities that make some member states significantly more exposed than others.

The comparative dimension is the report's primary value. Most disinformation research is country-specific, making it difficult to distinguish between features of the threat that are structural and universal versus those contingent on particular national contexts. By aggregating findings across 20 national contexts, EU DisinfoLab produces insights impossible from single-country analysis.
